Get better at writing — one word at a time

Write IT is a listen-and-spell game for ages 10–14: hear a word, write it, and get instant feedback on every letter. Built to make kids genuinely better at writing and spelling — not just to pass a quiz — with words that keep coming back at the right moment until they are truly mastered.

Why does Write IT work so well for teenagers who need better spelling? Because it trains the way the brain actually learns to write: active recall instead of passive word lists, immediate letter-by-letter feedback so a mistake is corrected before it sticks, and spaced repetition so words return exactly when memory starts to fade. Each answer is timed, which turns spelling into a real skill — you write from memory, not from looking. That combination is what lifts grades in school writing, essays and exams, where spelling mistakes cost marks even when the ideas are good.

Every word climbs four steps: 🌱 Learning, ✅ Got it and 💎 Mastered. A word is tested at most once per day, only a small set of words is in training at a time so practice stays focused and warm, and a mastered word keeps its status forever while still returning for gentle check-ups a week or more later. Day streaks and a growing mastered count keep motivation up — progress is always shown in words learned, never in percentages.

The word bank is age-appropriate for 10–14 year olds in both English and Spanish, and every session mixes brand-new words with the ones that need one more confirmation. Parents can follow the progress through a shared recovery code, agree on real rewards for every new 💎 word — so practice pays off in the real world — and ten minutes a day is enough to see the difference in written schoolwork. It is free, needs no account and runs on any PC/Mac browser.

Good to know

  • Hear 'necessary' → write 'necessary' — the word moves from 🌱 Learning to ✅ Got it.
  • Spell 'necesary' — 'Almost!' marks the missing letter and the word stays in training.
  • A 💎 Mastered word always keeps its status — a wrong answer on a check-up changes nothing.
  • Parents agree on rewards for new 💎 words — the reward grows only when words are truly mastered.

How it works

  1. 1Choose the language you want to practice — English or Spanish — and your age.
  2. 2Press START: the game reads a word out loud.
  3. 3Write exactly what you hear and press CHECK — 'Almost!' shows which letters were off.
  4. 4Words you have mastered return for check-ups after a week or more — and a wrong answer never removes a 💎.
