Convert All Things

About us

Our story

Why we built Convert All Things

We built Convert All Things because everyday questions deserve instant answers. How many feet is 180 cm? What is 250 euros in dollars? How many days until the trip, what does the loan really cost, and is one large pizza actually more food than two small ones? Instead of digging through ten tabs, sign-up walls and paywalled calculators, we wanted one clean, friendly place where the answer is already on the screen before you finish typing.

Our goal is simple: to build the web's most useful collection of free converters, calculators and handy everyday tools. Units, live currency rates, dates, height comparison, cost of living, budget planning and a whole box of fun extras — everything under one roof at convertallthings.com, everything working instantly, and everything completely free for the people who use it.

Free, for everyone

Every converter and calculator on the site is completely free — no account, no sign-up, no premium version hiding the good parts.

Built by us, for everyday life

We build tools for real questions: cm to feet, kg to pounds, EUR to USD, days between dates, what a loan really costs — instant answers, zero friction.

Your data stays yours

Personal tools like the budget planner save everything locally in your own browser. Nothing you type travels anywhere.

New tools all the time

We ship new calculators and features continuously — and the best ideas come straight from the people who use the site.

Free — now and forever

This is the part people ask about most, so let's be crystal clear: Convert All Things is 100% free for you. There is no premium tier, no locked pro features, no "create an account to see your result" and no limit on how many calculations you can run. Free online converters should not come with a catch — so ours don't. Open the tool you need, get your answer, get on with your day.

Free also means fast and private. Nothing needs to be installed, and tools that remember your data — like the 12-month budget planner — store it in your own browser, not on our servers. Your numbers stay on your device, where only you can see them.

What we're building

The mission is to keep adding cool, useful calculators and features that fit Convert All Things: one new tool is one more everyday question answered for free. Today that means 20+ unit conversion categories, live exchange rates for 30+ currencies, celebrity and landmark height comparison, cost of living and salary comparison between world cities, a full 12-month budget planner, savings and loan calculators, trip costs, BMI, calories, time zones, public holidays for 200+ countries, password generation, Roman numerals, and games like Guess the Year and Spin the Wheel.

Tomorrow it means whatever the next hundred useful questions turn out to be. Explore what's already here:

You decide what we build next

The best tools on this site started as an idea from a visitor. We keep the pipeline wide open: send us the calculator, converter or feature you wish existed, and we evaluate every request continuously. The ideas that sound coolest — and most useful to everyday life — get built and go live for everyone, for free.

Missing a unit? Want a calculator for something nobody has made yet? There is a request button at the top of every page, and you are very welcome to use it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Convert All Things really free?

Yes — every converter and calculator is completely free to use. No account, no sign-up, no limits and no premium version.

Can I request a new calculator or feature?

Yes, and we hope you will. Send us your idea from any page; we evaluate all requests continuously and build the ones that sound coolest.

Do I need to create an account to use the tools?

No. All tools work instantly in your browser with no registration.

Where is my data stored?

Tools like the budget planner save your data locally in your own browser — it stays on your device and survives app updates and reloads.

The tools, question by question

What each tool is for, which everyday questions it answers — and a direct link to try it.

What can the unit converter do?

Convert across 20+ categories — length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, energy, power, data storage, fuel economy, time and more. It answers classics like 180 cm in feet, 70 kg in pounds and oven temperatures from American recipes instantly, with exact international conversion factors.

Are the currency rates live?

Yes. Exchange rates come from the Frankfurter API and update throughout the day, covering EUR, USD, GBP, NOK and 30+ currencies. Enter an amount once and watch it convert both ways in real time.

How does the height comparison work?

Enter your height and add celebrities, world landmarks or animals — everyone is drawn to scale next to you. It is a fun way to see that you are exactly as tall as Tom Cruise's co-star, half an Eiffel Tower, or one and a half emperor penguins.

What does the cost of living tool tell me?

Compare any two world cities by cost-of-living index (New York = 100) and see the equivalent salary you would need to keep your standard of living — plus what everyday things like rent, groceries, coffee and cinema tickets cost in each city.

What can the Personal economy tools do?

They answer the big everyday money questions together: a full 12-month budget planner, a debt payoff planner comparing the avalanche and snowball methods, a subscription tracker, savings and loan calculators, what your time is worth, and a summary page that gathers every number in one place. Everything is stored privately in your own browser.

Which calculators help with prices and purchases?

The everyday money tools: tip calculator and bill splitter, VAT/MVA both ways, discount and percent-off, price per unit to find the better deal, an inflation calculator with historical prices, and trip cost calculators for the car and the whole holiday.

Can I trust the health tools?

As rough guides, yes — the BMI calculator and calorie estimator use standard formulas, but they are screening tools, not medical advice. Use them for orientation and talk to a professional about anything that matters.

What do the date and calendar tools answer?

Days between two dates, day-of-the-week for any date, live countdowns to birthdays and holidays, what happened on any day in history — and a public holiday calendar for 200+ countries with verified dates, long-weekend finder and calendar export.

Accuracy — and what to do if we're wrong

How accurate are the calculations?

It depends on the tool — and we are honest about which is which. Unit conversions use exact international definitions (1 inch = 25.4 mm, 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg), so they are exact. Currency conversions use live rates. Cost-of-living comparisons use approximate indices and reference prices — great for orientation, not for exact budgeting. Money planners (budget, debt, savings) are estimates built from the numbers you enter. Health tools are rough guides by nature. Whenever a result is an estimate, the tool says so.

I think I found an error — what should I do?

Tell us — seriously. Use the request button at the top of any page and describe which tool, what you entered and what you expected. We investigate every report, fix real errors fast, and the report button is not just for new features: error reports are the most valuable messages we can get.
